Missoula Avalanche Images


A fire fighter probes the snow for the 8 year-old boy that was buried in Friday's avalanche. The boy was found about an hour after being buried. 

Volunteers and fire fighters pull apart a fence during their search for the buried eight-year-old boy. 


The eight-year-old boy that was buried in Friday's avalanche is moved to a nearby ambulance by EMS workers and police officers.


People gather at the base of Mt. Jumbo to watch as volunteers and emergency crews continue to search for the three victims in Friday's avalanche. Police stopped people from joining in the search as more people flooded in to help.


Neighborhood volunteers, police officers and firemen scrape Van Buren with shovels while searching for a gas shut off valve. 


Missoula fire fighters chip away pavement to search for the block's gas shut off valve. Gas flowed from the destroyed house, slowing the teams from finding the buried couple.
